The STAR TREK Voice Operated Dimmer works by accepting voice commands. For example, the user gives the command "Computer" "Low" and the lights will turn on at a low intensity. Give the command "Computer" "Off" and the lights will turn off. Just plug into a standard wall outlet plug a lamp into the unit and you are ready.
